"As we let our light shine, we unconciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
-Marianne Williamson
Hello, my name is Heather Urick and I am the new independent living skills facilitator. I have a progressive, neurological disease called Friedreich's Ataxia. Diagnosed at age 12, I had a spinal fusion at age 14, I began using a wheelchair at age 19, and, finally, lost the ability to stand at age 27. I have worn many "hats" in my life. In 2004, I completed my degree in Human Services. I am an honorary member of the National Association of Social Workers (N.A.S.W.). I was nominated Ms. Wheelchair Arizona 2005. But by far my greatest achievement was the acquisition of my service dog, Ruth. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals! I can be contacted at landslide1974@yahoo.com
